• The 2014 F80 M3 leaks early - High resolution pictures and ordering guide

Well, here it finally is the 2014 F80 M3. There is nothing surprising here styling wise as the car was already seen back in October undisguised on public roads. It is nice to have official photos that are higher resolution though without having to look at grainy spyphotos. As you likely already know, the car will feature a twin turbo inline-6 motor known as the S55 with 430 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque mated to either a manual or dual clutch transmission.

BMW is aiming the keep the weight in the 3306 pound range which hopefully they will pull off.

We will have to wait for further details such as pricing when BMW does an official press release but for now enjoy the photos below.

This is a TT DI I6 with a DCT, an engine and tranny that alot of 3 series owners have experience before. Outside of the chassis, This engine and tranny isnt anything amazingly new and exciting by a long shot.
I think this was a mistake BMW made with this car, cuz otherwise its so GREAT! IDC what anyone says, HP numbers matter and to have an M3 with 424hp, a few more then previous gen, sounding worse while WOT, and having less HP then BMW 5 series family sedan, its just really wrong. Have 335is coupe running around with the same basic layout making as much or more power with just a tune.

My take on it anyways, Next Gen C63 with the V8 TT engine will be a monster of an engine.
You are still talking in theory and in "coulda, shoulda, woulda" land.

When you have some seat time in the car - feel free to crucify it. Until then, you are merely spinning conjecture relating a base model 3-series release that will cost less than half of the new M3.

This hysteria sounds a lot like what we heard when the E46 came out (too ricey, the exhaust note is tinny, too heavy blah blah blah) and of course the E9X release (V8 - WTF?, too heavy, power bulge is ugly, blah blah).

Let the car get released before you jump off the ledge of conclusions.

Official power figures are 431bhp and 406ft/lbs. 7600 rpm redline. I approve.

It looks great. I am sure it will grow on me even more after a few years.

3.9 0-60, not bad. The turbos are hitting 18psi though, this isn't a n54 with 8psi stock and potential to get 100whp out of a tune and bolt on's.

No it definitely is in a higher state of tune. But... it's also built better for more power. The heads, the block, everything.

After watching that video, I changed my mind - it's a damn good looking car. I like it. It sounds better than I thought, but it's nothing to brag about (sound-wise). Nice car - looking forward to it.

Me too - I am a sedan fan to begin with (better rigidity), but without having that bias, would say the M3 looks better than the coupe (which I would not say about the current gen). I like it. Alot.

You think? I've seen two on the road now, it doesn't doit for me like the c6 does, to many sharp edges, rear looks strange, I hate to say it but somehow the new body style cheapens the look of the car compared to the c6, at least IMO. On the other hand.... This m3/m4 is a real great looking car

Car sounds so muted. I hate the sound of it. Looks very good, although I think the M3 looks better than the M4 this time around. E90Company is right, the C7 will probably still be faster than the ///M.
