    • First 9 second US Porsche 991 Turbo - Cobb AP tuned Porsche 991 Turbo S on nitrous hits 9.7@143

      Congratulations to Cobb Tuning as well as Rob Tuned who did the 991 Turbo tuning here through the Cobb Accessport. We now have a 9 second US Porsche 991 Turbo as well as the quickest and fastest US 991 Porsche. Thanks to bolt ons and a bit of nitrous a 9.717 @ 143.06 pass was achieved.


      From what we understand nitrous was not sprayed in first gear. We do not know how large the shot is but it is making a nice difference. Without the spray the car manages a very respectable 10.12 @ 137. We would like to see that slip to compare.

      Regardless, this is the new record holder in the USA for the Porsche 991 Turbo platform. The overall 1/4 mile record remains 9.414 @ 143.77.

        Sticky, your correct, it is my car. I wish we had more time to refine the tune but MMP closed at 5pm. We wanted to get the car on the dyno but it was full at topspeed.

        It's already a record, no sweat.

        Mind sharing if you intend to spray in 1st (not recommended on the factory PDK) and what the shot setup is?

        Also, did Rob tune for the nitrous?

        One last thing, can we get the non-nitrous slip?

        That's right. Makes sense as you're not using it in first.

        This is the Turbo they gave you for purchasing the Spyder I take it?

        I saw a video of you running that on the dragstrip was well I was going to put up today until I saw this.

        Do you feel the Turbo on nitrous is a good match for it?

        With a few more tweaks, we should have been in the 9.5 range and at a minimum 9.6's. We have more room and some nitrous adjustments concerning the ramp of nitrous

        Not so good for VTG's. We are in the process of going away from VTG's where we shouldn't have an issue. The car is back at Vengeance and we will implement the plan by the end of the week. I want the car ready for the wannagofast event in VA or Ga. I suspect we will be over 180 with new turbos, intercoolers and nitrous.

        Trying to figure out why the car short shifts in second and third. It shifts in third when I should still be in second....

        I'd suspect you are right.

        Are you doing any events on the West Coast any time soon?

        Ditching the VTG's means a turbo upgrade essentially but the concern then is fuel. I assume meth?

        You using launch control?

        Did you try launching and shifting manually to alleviate the short shift issue?

        System takes over if you don't shift when it wants you too. We didn't have time to try manual mode to see if that would fix the issue. Watch the video and see how quick it goes into 3rd...
