    • Champion Motorsport Porsche 991 Turbo / S turbocharger upgrade makes 659 horsepower to all four wheels

Solid numbers here from Champion Motorsport's 991 Turbo and 991 Turbo S turbocharger upgrade package. Tuning is done through an ECU flash and GIAC has been working with Champion on the tuning. The result is 659 wheel horsepower on race fuel and 618 wheel horsepower on 93 octane pump.

You can compare these numbers to tune only figures on the stock turbochargers. Essentially, you get another 100 wheel horsepower with this upgrade and just under 100 more lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

If you want more power and torque you will need to go to a bigger set of turbos and also look into PDK transmission upgrades.

What is that big thing hanging off the side of the turbo? One looks like the BPV is the other thing the electronic waste gate?

That's the VTG (variable vane) controller the P-cars use.

Oh yeah that makes sense. So that probably means that this turbo upgrade only messes with the compressor wheel? Since I imagine the VTG mechanism makes modifying the turbine a pain in the dick

Yeah I think this is just a mild stock housing upgrade that retains the VTG functionality.

If going for more power they seem to dump the VTG's.

Exactly. The upgrade has a 68mm compressor wheel. Hot side is stock.

For the biggest power tuners are using billet wheels and gets into power levels which require a PDK upgrade
