    • EVO Porsche 991.2 GT3 laptime test - Quicker than 991.1 Turbo S and 991.1 GT3 RS

Well the automotive media is getting to test out the new 991.2 generation Porsche 911 GT3 and basically everyone is in love with the car. What is there not to like? A 9000 rpm 4.0 liter flat-6 with 500 horsepower that sounds glorious in a lightweight chassis?

We all know the specs so how does it perform? Well. Very well. You already knew this from the Nurburgring time Porsche published but we want independent results.

Here is how the 991.2 GT3 stacks up on the Evo leaderboard:

The track is a bit tight and short but it edges out the 991.1 Turbo S and 991.1 GT3 RS. That bodes very well for the 991.2 GT3 RS.

The car does not quite make it into that McLaren 675LT or 488 GTB category but that is what the upcoming GT2 is for.

What the GT3 accomplishes with what it has is incredible. Porsche is to be commended for continuing the model instead of taking the easy way out as many other German manufacturers have.
