    • GIAC tuned Porsche 991.2 C4S runs 11.1@122.3 in the 1/4 mile

      Finally some performance results for a tuned Porsche 991.2. This is a C4S variant which of course means all wheel drive. It definitely does not have trouble putting the power down as the 1.667 short time on street tires shows.


      The overall 1/4 mile result is an 11.196 @ 122.39. In other words, the C4S and Carrera S look to be 10 second capable tune only. This is a pump gas result after all and who knows what it will do with a race gas tune and full bolt ons.

      The trap speed is not a big increase. Clearly, GIAC is adding torque down low which shows in the elapsed time. The preliminary dynograph GIAC released though shows some large top end gains but it does not have a torque curve included in the graph.
      This is very early on in 9A2 3.0 tuning with plenty more to come. The result does bode well for the platform regarding bolt on performance and beyond.

        Thats exciting!!! Imagine w headers, plenum, Y pipe and e85....moving!!!

        Yep I wonder what E85 and full bolt ons are going to do.

        I can't wait to try it out myself.

        Apparently the GIAC Carrera tune will be out next week. If that's the case I'll test it myself.

        It's going to take a turbo upgrade to think about 9's.

        Awesome results. This guy said he also has hi-flo cats and an x-pipe on that car. The GTS tuned is going to be fast....

        Wont be anything crazy yet...exhaust and tune for now. Good to know though other members been driving stock more than a year and no major issue.

        Yeah that's what I'm going to do. I screwed up and didn't get the PSE, so I put a Fabspeed x-pipe on. I've had mine a year and just passed 10k miles. I've had one CEL about six months ago for some weird electrical issue, and when in for my 10k service they fixed all the recalls. It's been a great car. I've done two PCA DE's at Sebring, the Wannagofast 1/2 mile event, and daily drive it. No issues at all.

        Is that the same w HPDE? We have one here in May and another one in September i think. I almost tried the May one but chicken out. Did you need new pads and tires after each?

        Yeah it's a HPDE. It was a blast! I had to have a instructor sit in the passenger seat and coach me every session. You can really haul ass around the the track, but you can only pass (at Sebring) on the straights and only if the car in front waves you by. Which wasn't a big deal, it was actually good and safe. I just changed my brake fluid to the Motul racing fluid (mandatory) and went at with my P-Zeros. I swapped in new OEM brake pads after, but I probably didn't need to. I am using my original tires after all those events. Problem is insurance.....

        Hi guys, this is actually my time slip so feel free to ask questions if you have them. I wanted to add something I hadn't thought of until a few days ago and joined this forum to add this info. I ran that time with a set of 21"PUR aftermarket wheels. I am now wondering how my ET might change with the stock wheels installed. I may have to run the car again.

        Thats an awesome time man! I'm sure the wheels will make a difference. Did you use LC and let the PDK auto shift?

        Thanks! I'm not sure what effect the stock wheels will have but it will be interesting to find out. I ran the car in Sport+ mode with the PDK in full automatic( I typically drive it in manual mode 90% of the time on the street) and used launch control. I think launch and all-wheel drive gives these cars such an advantage off the line. My hope is to get this car into the 10's without messing with the turbos.

        What was your Wannagofast 1/2 mph in Ocala?

        Oh hell yes, you have a great opportunity to get into 10's, especially with AWD. I was just thinking, looking at the dynos, like with most Turbo cars shifting at peak power as oppsed to redline would make a difference.

        I will have to dig up the spreadsheet they send, but I did three runs at approx 140.7, 140.3' and 139.8. There was a stock 997.1 Turbo there running consistent 143's. He was shocked that a .2 base car was running that close. I'm sure the PDK had something to do with it. I'm thinking shifting manually and not letting the PDK bang shifts at redline maybe the better way to go.

        This is a huge point. You have a 10 second car on lighter 20's with some sticker rubber.

        Basically, you are performing like a 991.1 Turbo. That's awesome!
