    • Built motor Porsche 991.1 Turbo S with ByDesign Stage IV turbo upgrade tops 800 horsepower to all four wheels

This Porsche 991.1 Turbo S belongs to PorscheBoost member @Markblackwell. Readers have enjoyed watching his car progress through the various tuning stages. He made 665 to all four wheels on a Mustang dyno which was then pushed to 747 to the tires.

He also ran 9's and topped 144 miles per hour of trap speed in the 1/4 mile. Since that time his engine was built and he also upgraded the PDK transmission with parts from Dodson.

Well, now the car is making 819 all wheel horsepower. The torque figure is 782 lb-ft at all four wheels. That is on a Mustang dynamometer and what the Dynojet output would be is anyone's guess. That figure is probably somewhere in the 9XX range.

What will it hit now in the 1/4 mile? Hopefully we find out soon but he is likely close to the 150 trap speed range.

      Simply a beast of a 991.1 Turbo.

Mark has been so patient with all of the "while we are in there" stuff and though I feel we did a ton in a short time...It was 5 long, hard working, "wait for it" months.

In that time we were able to:

      - Build and test an awesome motor build package with John Bray (1st in the states)
      - Help develop and test the Dodson Motorsport PDK upgrade in several variations
      - Test high RPM on the 991TTS with Cobb Tuning
      - Help Develop and test DSS high performance axles
      - Run in the Omega Motorsport 1/2 mile and collect great data for tuning
      - Test PDCC suspension and alignment settings

I'm not sure how this slipped through the cracks or how I missed it.

What are the motor build specs @Markblackwell?

Do you have any more pics? This was put together quickly, wasn't it? You're already running it, right?

It was done quickly but it seems like forever when you dont have your car and miss an event or two, Ill look for a few more pics, the shop was basically shut down for 2 weeks around the holidays. The car is running and being driven around today actually for some break in time, I do not have the car back yet, we are renting the dyno for a day it will be tuned next week along with 2 other stage 4 cars and then I will run down to LA and pick it up.

Awesome. I look forward to the numbers.

Why did you decide to build the motor anyway? Just because you are going to be pushing it further?

I am running slicks at the 1/4 mile track and with 750whp I figured it was putting quite a bit or stress on the rods ( they are all straight I have them all ) I want to max out the stock Vtg's and see what they will do. I also may put some Alpha style turbos on and push it to 1,000wheel we will see

Well, I'm glad to see you doing this.

I'm going to be in a 911 shortly and I'm glad you're pushing things which may have carryover.

Well here is a start up video, just need to get her on the dyno for a new tune and get the prototype DSS axels installed almost done.

        That sounds pretty mean!

DSS axles at all four corners right?

Sam @Bydesign does my tune with imput from the Cobb team. Sam has tuned more 991 turbos than anybody hands down.
        Im doing rear axels only

991 turbos on launch and under hard exceleration transfer most of the power to the rears. Nobody has had a problem with the fronts
and more importantly nobody is working on the fronts

        That explains it well, thanks.

I wonder if the DSS axles will carry over to other 991 models.

I'm picking up a 991.2 Carrera shortly and it would be cool if the development was already done.

Now I know I can get pretty excited but I feel this deserved it's own thread and I love to share! Click here to enlarge

These are Corrected #'s and we are so pleased with the capabilities of the By Design Stage 4 recipe. From a pump gas 700hp street machine, to a track day 800hp killer, to a record breaker, to this...Almost 1000 hp and tq to really drive it home! A true team effort. Look at that curve! Mark has been so patient with all of the "while we are in there" stuff and though I feel we did a ton in a short time...It was 5 long, hard working, "wait for it" months.

        - Run in the Omega Motorsport 1/2 mile and collect great data for tuning
        - Test PDCC suspension and alignment settings

Here are the results and I am again so grateful to my team who most all happen to be in my signature as their strongest rep! I hope to continue to push things and dedicate myself to maintaining the best 1 on 1 level for my guys! She is sitting pretty ready for you to pick up pal.

        Cheers and thanks for looking,
        Sam
