    • Next generation 2019 Porsche 911 (992) taking shape - Spyphotos/Pictures

The 991.2 still is new but the 992 or next generation 911 is starting to come together. Porsche was out testing the new 911 and Autocar happened to get some fairly good photos of the exterior and the interior.

Are the changes major? No. The bumper and rear lights get new styling. Even the interior gauges look the same which is interesting as rumors abound that the 992 will have a digital cluster inspired by Audi.

What about the engines and performance? The 9A2 engine architecture will get a slight bump in output likely due to software changes and for the first time there will likely be a hybrid 911.

Do not expect the 992 before 2019.

I like the rear end. That interior looks like just a test mule and has next to nothing to do with what will make it to production.

I am predicting the 992 will go back to their 993 roots and be aircooled. lol Click here to enlarge

I wonder if the 992 will offer enough for me to trade to it. If it's just styling changes with the same motor... I'll keep mine.

I doubt it will be anything huge changing. And by then your 991.2 platform will have a lot more aftermarket support and will probably just start to be making big power. Would be pointless to trade.

I'm just saving up for the 997.1 Turbo to hit the depreciation low, that is my all time favorite non GT Porsche.

Probably. But a new project in a few years might be fun too. We'll see what it brings.

I still need a damn tune... been beating everything I've run on the stock tune though.
