    • Don't be Stupid - 5 BMW's (F80 M3, F82 M4, E92 335, etc.) impounded after street racing accusation in NC, trooper suspended and resigns

This is a messy story. It starts with a report that five BMW's were street racing in North Carolina and their cars were impounded. In this type of situation a judge could potentially decide that the owners lose their vehicles to the state. A giant penalty.

That is where things get interesting. The trooper that pulled them over and impounded the cars was caught on camera going the against traffic at high speeds to catch up to them.

Once he got there only those involved know what happened but it seems maybe he went overboard. Especially considering he was suspended and now resigned.

The State Highway Patrol announced Tuesday a state trooper has been placed on administrative duty after a video surfaced online of the trooper speeding down the wrong way of Highway 321 in Newton.

Trooper T.J. Williamson has been placed on administrative duty pending an internal investigation. Hes been employed with the Patrol since August 2016 and is assigned to Troop F, District 5 Highway Patrol in Hickory.
You can watch the initial report below:

Here is the trooper speeding against traffic:

As for the charges facing the BMW owners:

      • Brennan T. Rowe, 22, of Wayne, N.J., charged with impeding traffic & exceeding posted speed limit
      • Anthony W. Obrien, 20, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, charged with impeding traffic & prearranged racing
      • Hoang T. Nguyen, 44, of Allen, Texas, charged with impeding traffic & prearranged racing
      • Tran Hai Phi, 26, of Jacksonville, Florida, charged with impeding traffic & prearranged racing
      • Haroon Masood, 27, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania charged with impeding traffic & prearranged racing
      • Tamer Arslanouk, 24, of Waynesville, New Jersey, charged with impeding traffic
      • Saad Ahmed Gil, 25, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, charged with impeding traffic & prearranged racing.

Were these guys messing around on the road? Most likely considering the 911 calls. Did the trooper go overboard in going against traffic and potentially causing a head on collision himself? Absolutely. Was impounding the cars without evidence overboard? Yes.

The bottomline? Don't be stupid and don't street race in a large group that will get attention.

This is good, maybe these people will stop endangering everyone on the road with these videos I see of weaving through traffic at 160 trying to prove a point of how fast they are.

After seeing this plastered on all the Facebook pages it sounds like this group of guys were part of a bigger group who were racing and took off. They got hit for the street racing without any proof of them actually racing. "Guilty by association" complete bull$#@! if you ask me. Also there was a video of a state trooper doing over 80mph goin the WRONG way down the highway to supposedly try to "catch the street racers" seems like the retard going 80+ mph the wrong way down the freeway was trying to justify his actions by impounding these cars. Trooper has since resigned after being suspended.

Another video from a car following the caravan of BMW's shows folks taking 'rolling' pics of cars, hence the reason for the cars slowing down...

If we're honest about this it's a bunch of 20 year old kids (with a 40 year old who should have known better) driving around like jackasses.

I find it funny their attorney tries to make them sound like professionals and upstanding citizens. No professional anything is putting decals all over their car like that just asking for attention or racing around on the highway just asking for trouble.

Icing on the cake would be if these guys are Bimmerpost members.

        Just stupid all around.

come on bro you have to separate the incidents, what the cop did is 1 incident and what they did is separate, you can't minimize what they did because the cop got over zealous to catch them! Lets play the odds on what a pack of 20 year olds in sports cars were likely doing! Especially based on all the 911 calls, we are all car guys here but at some point you realize that the risk to the public is completely unfair. I have an m6 with 700+whp and I will do an occasional sunday run at 7am, not in traffic in the middle of the day like these guys.

I am totally with you on taking the toys out early in the morning, not when the roads are crowded in the middle of the day.... Just asking for trouble. I'm sure they were driving like jackasses but it definitely doesn't justify driving the wrong way down a highway. I have cop friends, it's easier for them to arrest someone or impound a car when writing certain citations then not doing so. Some sherriffs/cops/state troopers just have a chip on their shoulder and will always go after a certain type of "law breaker" then just hit em with the books! This guy proved how bad he wanted them, endangered soo many more people then the "law breakers" IMO

What he is saying is that writing a racing ticket makes it easier to arrest / impound than it would be to arrest / impound when simply writing a speeding ticket. Click here to enlarge

I heard they were doing "rolling shots" which is why they were impeding traffic. I don't know how the cops will have enough evidence for street racing unless there was video of it or something.

Impounding cars is too far IMO but don't $#@!ing block a busy road for your stupid rolling shots. Do that in some industrial park or parking lot/deck when no one is around.

they are all early 20's they definitely deserve some tickets/fines to teach them a lesson but dont take their cars.
