    • Rumor: The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS sets new Nurburgring lap record with 6:48.75 lap

Everyone calm down. This is a rumor although it comes from Edo Karabegovic (of German tuner Edo Performance) who was at the 'Ring during the record attempt. If what he is saying is true, we have a new Nurburgring champion.

A 6:48.75 laptime would comfortably top the controversial Lamborghini Huracan Performante time of 6:52.01.

How much stock do you put in a Facebook post?

We are waiting for official word from Porsche. If it is true, the 991.2 GT2 RS is the new king.

A GT3 RS with ~200hp more with Porsche's experience/knowledge of the track? I believe it! Plus a friend of mine who donated to the Viper ACR ring attack told me that Porsche was there for about a month straight with the 918 to get that time so I doubt they'd put in less effort for a car that's supposed to be a big deal.

Nope, that 2nd crash right after running 7:01 killed their best shot.

Lies get halfway around the world before the truth even gets its pants on.

Can someone translate that whole thing?

It says...6:48.5 is just a guess. The true notarized lap is 6:47.3. I know you guys are saying like "show me the timeslip" I want to see video, full weight?, what tires are you using? e85 is not pump gas, my cousins brother was there and if he had his phone, he would have recorded it.

That's what I like to see. The GT2 has been a dream car of mine for some time. What I would do for this 911 GT2 RS!

How would this car stack up against the 720S? I've been seeing the 720S smash on everything it faces.

The 720S just has too much power, too little weight, and all that weight in the right places with superior aerodynamics.

When the 720S LT or whatever they call it comes out it will beat this. The GT2 RS does an incredible job pushing the 911 to the limit though.

From what I read, McLaren said they will not be chasing lap times with this new F1 successor. It will be more of a GT car and not track focused. Comfortably fitting driver, two passsengers, and some luggage.

It is going to be a top speed car, along the lines of Veyron.

That sounds pretty awesome to be honest.

Grab two hotties and head to Vegas for a weekend.
