    • PorscheBoost forum member sets new US 991 Turbo 1/4 mile record - 9.70@141

Congratulations are in order to PorscheBoost Porsche Performance Forums member @NJ-M4 on his setting a new quickest Porsche 991 Turbo 1/4 mile time. His vehicle is a 991.1 Turbo S so this is an overall quickest 991 US pass.

As a reminder, @Markblackwell ran 9.71 @ 143.80 in his 991.1 Turbo S. So while this is the quickest US pass it is not the fastest:

      The mod list:

      ESMotor 71mm VTG Turbos
      ESMotor intercoolers
      ESMotor exhaust
      ESMotor headers
      IPD Plenum
      IPD Y pipe
      Meth kit
      Cobb tuned by Emre

The recorded 60-130 time for reference on the run was 5.7 seconds:

      Curb weight is 3595 pounds:

Very well done and a very impressive 991.1 Turbo.

Here's the on car vid of record pass. Launch control start, then manually shifted every gear using paddle shifters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdbBkPeHEQo

Yeah, new I wanted to mod when I bought it. Click here to enlarge

The hardest shift is at launch from 1st to 2nd. Car almost does a wheelie at launch and revs almost instantly get to redline. Gotta time it perfectly. Too early or too late (hitting the limiter) blows the run. ...and there is a delay when hitting the paddle, so I go to shift as soon as I see 5600 and it still doesnt shift until 6500-6700 in first since it comes so fast.

The rest of the shifts are easy. I shifted at 6800 or so.

Doesn't the PDK launch control automatically shift as long as you keep the throttle pinned?

Not if you have it in manual mode (push shifter to the left).

BTW, I launch in manual mode and shift manually because my tuner looked at data after runs when I used auto mode and found car was losing time in the 1-to-2 shift with the drag radials. So told me to shift manually. He was right. More work, but times improved.

@NJ-M4 ESmotor doesn't really do a good job advertising or showing what packages they have and how much they cost.

How tough was it for you to order and receive this? Did you go through a dealer?

Hey Sticky. All was ordered and installed through AIM Performance in South Plainfield, NJ. I went to them knowing I wanted turbos, boltons and meth, but I let them choose whose parts to use. They chose ES Motor. Everything was shipped to AIM within a couple of weeks of my order and then they installed it in just 4 days. Awesome.

Glad to see @Emre@Esmotor selling the products in the US.

Still needs a better web presence and details/pricing of the packages but glad AIM hooked you up!
