    • PorscheBoost forum member sets quickest and fastest US Porsche 991.1 Turbo 1/4 mile record - 9.6@147

Congratulations are in order to @NJ-M4 for setting the new overall quickest and fastest Porsche 991.1 Turbo 1/4 mile record! He ended up breaking his own quickest record which was 9.70. He picked up quite a bit of trap speed though and his 147 trap is now the fastest recorded in the USA as well.

The previous fastest pass was 9.71 @ 143.80 by @Markblackwell.

      Here is the mod list:

Mods (chosen and installed by AIM Performance):
      ESMotor 71mm VTG Turbos
      ESMotor intercoolers
      AIM Lightweight Exhaust
      ESMotor headers
      IPD Plenum
      IPD Y pipe
      meth kit
      Lightweight Tecnocraft seats
      OZ Wheels
      Cobb tuned by @Emre@Esmotor

There is a bit of weight stripped out as the carbon Technocraft seats are extremely light.

EDIT: He further improved his quickest record to 9.59:

Everything else is pretty much as it was with the ESMotor Turbochargers and tuning doing most of the work.

What is impressive is this car is still on the stock motor as it approaches 150 traps. Also the stock transmission with the stock clutches. Yes, really.

      Congratulations again to @NJ-M4!

@NJ-M4 where did you get the Technocraft seats and how comfortable are they? I've had my eye on them for a while.

What did they cost if you don't mind me asking?

Got them from AIM Performance. They are reasonably comfortable for what they are, but nowhere near as comfortable as the stock leather seats. Also harder to get in and out of. They are also lower. Good for weight savings, but the stock seats are going back in during the off season. Click here to enlarge

I forget how much they were. Not cheap. Thousands of dollars. Have to find and check the invoice since they were part of a bigger job.

So basically just good for track days?

If you can find out the cost i'd appreciate it. If not, no biggie.

Is the seat swap hard? Any lights triggered?

Yes, best for track days or for periods that you will be racing often and weight savings is important to you. But you definitely sacrifice comfort. No free lunch.

Cost for 2 seats + seat brackets + seat padding + shipping was $5,275. doh!

I did not do the seat swap. The boyz at AIM did. I think they said it took an hour or two.
Only light triggered is the airbag light.

        Thank you.

I think what I will do is pick one up for track days and then just swap it myself and ditch the passenger seat.

That should be an easy 100+ pounds right there.

Funny you should say that. Just dropped my car today to AIM to remove the passenger seat for what will likely be my final race weekend of the season.

        Yep, 100lbs sounds about right.

        stock psi up front.
optimal rear psi depends on DA, track prep, and power. Anywhere between 16psi and 22psi. Gotta experiment and dial it in on your specific car on your specific track's prep on your day's weather conditions & temp.
