    Lots of wrong info.
F1pitstops generally go under 3.5 seconds, fastest this year was 2.2 sec.
Races happenf1 in as well dry and wet conditions.
The salaries of F1 drivers are also incorrect.
accelleration figures are also not comparable at all.
    I could go on...
There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works

That's fine, correct any misinformation you see.

High tec wings in front and back to cut through wind.
    Really?
The entire body of an F1 car, including wing, is designed to create as much downforce as possible within regulations . The drag coefficient of an F1 car therefor is that of a medium sized truck.
So not really just to cut through wind...

I think the main point was that aerodynamics are incredibly important to the design, more so than NASCAR.

Nascar's Chromoly tubular frame with sheetmetal (?) bodyparts versus full Carbon Fibre shell and body parts on a F1 car.
In fairness for being limited to only 4 people the pitstops of Nascar are not even bad. Just compared to a 16 person F1 pitcrew that can do a tirechange in 2.2 seconds, well, it's apples and oranges. When refueling was allowed ( <2011) pitstops took 5.5 seconds, refueling 12L,/sec. Not sure if Nascar refueles as well in those 11 seconds.

Actual F1 salary prices (in € so x1,25)

    Drivers:

    1. Fernando Alonso Ferrari €30m
    2. Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes €16m
    = Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes €16m
    4. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull Racing €10m
= Mark Webber Red Bull Racing €10m
    = Felipe Massa Ferrari €10m
    = Nico Rosberg Mercedes €10m
    8. Michael Schumacher Mercedes €8m
    9. Kimi Raikkonen Lotus F1 Team €5m
    10. Heikki Kovalainen Caterham F1 Team €4m
    11. Timo Glock Marussia F1 Team €3m
    12. Kamui Kobayashi Sauber €1m
    = Romain Grosjean Lotus F1 Team €1m
    14. Nico Hulkenberg Force India F1 €500,000
    = Sergio Perez Sauber €500,000
    = Vitaly Petrov Caterham F1 Team €500,000
= Pedro de la Rosa HRT €500,000
    18. Pastor Maldonado Williams €400,000
= Daniel Ricciardo Scuderia Toro Rosso €400,000
    = Jean-Eric Vergne Scuderia Toro Rosso€400,000
    21. Bruno Senna Williams €250,000
    = Narain Karthikeyan HRT €250,000
    23. Paul di Resta Force India F1 €200,000
    24. Charles Pic Marussia €150,000

Bit of a pointless thread to me esp when an outdated and obviously inaccurate "infographic" is used.

    Slow news day I guess....

I've been to a couple of NASCAR races, it was a lot more fun in person then I would've imagined. Driving skills are of course different when you compare Forumla 1 to NASCAR, but I give the NASCAR guys respect for what they do.

It wasn't an article I posted and it was a brand new inforgraphic from a major blog. If they got things wrong that is their deal but it's still interesting and certainly isn't outdated.

    Joe,

Why didn't you name the source and give them credit? We know how upset you get when people don't give your site credit yet you are doing the same thing.

    let me help you!

Brand new? When was the last time the f1 pit stops were that slow...the days of refueling...so it is at least two years old.

    What was the blog?

Props to Nascar drivers (for not falling asleep while driving in circles all the time Click here to enlarge ) but F1 technology is lightyears ahead of Nascar. What's the point in comparing those two racing series? Are US folks really that un-informed about current F1, so that this comparison is needed?

He didn't get lost, he was just hoping that there would be access back onto the track. He was wrong.

Your both wrong, Kimi thought he saw a portable stripper pole and was checking to see if any ladies were there....

Actually yes the majority of Americans are uninformed regarding Formula 1 and since NASCAR is the most popular motorsport in the USA it's interesting to juxtapose it against the most popular motorsport in the world.

I kinda agree you could juxtapose them together but comparing them is totally wrong. They are literally two different sports but in the same genre. Its like comparing metallica and mozart, they are both brilliant sort of in their own way. Except one is elegant and refined and the other is coked up and hyperactive psychopaths (nascar fans).
Some people live long, meaningful lives.

Other people eat shit and die.

I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.
