C7 corvette engine bay, interior, and rear previewed in black and white
Wish these were color but better than nothing. Surprised the interior still looks rather similar and well, kind of crappy. Does not look very modern despite the large LCD. I guess I was just hoping for something more innovative.
Rear looks pretty aggressive. Let's hope this all turns out well:

I like how the interior is focused on the driver, like a cockpit....seems promising

It doesn't look really different from the C6. The passenger side design is still just garbage. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

They should just hire someone from Aston or Audi and just have them do the interior with absolutely no input from anyone at GM.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I really respect the performance of the Corvette, but they still do nothing for me. They don't really "get it" as much as the Europeans when it comes to balancing looks/performance/practicality/quality in the overall package IMO.

The C7 was supposed to change that. It frustrates me the Americans still don't get it. Same old GM from what I see so far. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I was in a ZR1 the other day riding along and i couldnt believe how plain and blah the interior was on that car for 120k i expect alot more! The other major gripe i had was the seats absolutly suck in that car.. my 335 has nicer seats by far. Lots of plastic and lots of out dated dash/controls. The saving grace is the motor and exterior (and im not so sure about the exterior other than its all carbon fiber)

The ZR1 isn't worth 120k. The Z06 is a bargain, the ZR1 is redundant and overpriced. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Let's remember what Corvette is selling.... A $#@!ing rocketship at low cost. Until recently, it's not really been about cutting edge tech (NAV + Magnetic Dampening Suspension), just putting a bomb ass engine in a super light body that's just makes the cut to be street legal.
Viper is the same thing but a little more aggressive, I mean this is the 1st version of the Viper to get traction control b/c it's LEGALLY required (big government getting involved in $#@! it doesn't know & $#@!ing up things.... again).COBB AP ProTune by Bren of ///Bren Tuning

It isn't much to ask that their interior doesn't look like some POS from a $17k economy car. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

12-25-2012, 12:09 AM #18Not necessarily. The motor is stronger in general, despite it being F/I from factory. The brakes on that thing are the same $#@! you get on a Ferrari don't forget that. They're not some run of the mill Brembos, they're actually really expensive. Don't forget the handling with the magnetic ride suspension. That suspension did wonders in the ZL1, imagine how well the corvette handles. I think it's worth 120K if you look at it in the performance way of it. It can easily stick with any supercar with the right driver for 1/4th of the price. The z06 doesn't have any of those features unless you do the carbon option. I'm sure the z06 can probably do all of that as well, just not with the ease and insurance the ZR1 would. I wouldn't doubt that the interior is made from legos. Trust me, I know. I own a chevy myself. Best bang for the buck in performance. For luxury and interior quality, it plain sucks. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show QuoteThen: 09 Vw Gti - RIP

Take a Z06, give it the same brakes, done. They have an option for that I believe anyway. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The LS7 is more my type of motor. I'll take the higher revving and higher displacement in this case. Heat soak also would not be as big of an issue. You can boost an LS7 as well and have the best of both worlds.
-
12-25-2012, 12:14 AM #20Yea, they do have that option. It brings the z06 to like 110k lol. The LS7 is an amazing motor. It's had a couple of failures for some odd reason though. I actually just raced a cammed and fully bolted z06. I hung for 1 second in third gear. He was surprised. We ran again this time he opened the valves or something cause his car just flew passed me with ease and it just just 10X's louder. We pull over and he's amazed at my car and how it even kept up for a little. 550whp NA z06. Just a montser. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show QuoteThen: 09 Vw Gti - RIP

I'd have too agree on the interior. I get the "bang for your buck" part of it but the overall layout is just plain old outdated and boring, at least for the current vettes. If they used the old layout as a template for the new vettes then it's going to be more of the same. To contrast, the improvements of say the 03-05 350z to the 06+ then to the 370s is what should have happened.

The interior is a huge improvement. Let's not be nitpick, no one buys or don't buy a Corvette for it's interior. I'm disappointed with the tail design. Not feeling it at all.
