Porsche 996 GT2 playing with a new F13 M6 on the highway in traffic - Irresponsible?

Users who read this site are performance enthusiasts who definitely like to press the gas pedal down from time to time. We are all guilty of it but sometimes it's how you do it. A guy in a 996 GT2 on the highway runs into an F13 M6 and wants to play, understandable. New BMW with a twin turbo V8 and the Porsche owner wants to see how he stacks up. The only issue is the amount of traffic on the highway and how both guys start weaving in and out.

They do not hit anybody but on a highway as crowded as this the responsible action is simply to let the other car go. Weaving in and out giving chase is just a recipe for disaster as one can not control the other cars. Best to shut it down and save it for the track or at the bare minimum when there is no traffic and innocent people can not be put in harm's way.

Nothing bad happened here but that does not excuse it. What do you think?

I think they should be arrested. Because they broke the law. Simple as that. No hard feelings about it. No "you do the same" etc.

I wouldn't go that far. We all speed, we all shouldn't be arrested.

(personally) I see that as much more then speeding, putting other families, peoples lives at risk. Its irresponsible and uncalled for.

But that is my opinion, and I am entitled to that.

    Id have to agree.

While stupid, im sure almost all of us have done similar stunts on the road, just not to that degree.
Arrest? No. Stern slapping around? Possibly. Save it for when the road is clear Click here to enlarge

I agree it was irresponsible but I wouldn't go further. Of course you are entitled to your opinion.

That was pretty reckless, but I have seen a lot worse driving around Chicago with even more crazy traffic.

    Southern State... Typical behaivor indeed!!!

Its wrong, we've all done it at least once. Had an accident occurred then yes an arrest would be appropriate. They could have found more space to play.

I dont understand why people even engage in playing in traffic like that. Outside of the obvious dangers to others and yourself, its pointless. I wont play unless there is enough space to get a clean pull.

I actually saw something similar a few days ago watching a IS-F do the same but the traffic was far more congested than in this one. Needless to say, I eventually caught up to him but only because he caused an accident. Click here to enlarge

I think we have all done that before at one time or another. Not the smartest idea, but it happens.

Foolish. Should have been lots of points if they had been caught, but no jail time unless they actually caused a wreck.

Pretty sloppy of them.. I mean if you've got no room.. you've got no room. If I catch a suitable competitor in traffic, I'll wave them down and try to convince them to follow me out to an open stretch to get some runs in. I've done it countless times and kept the risk down to me and the other driver.
