Can you immediately tell it is new? Yes, if you are a Porsche enthusiast. The new lights, hood, and bumper definitely stand out. The sport exhaust is interesting but the standard quad pipes actually look better in person.
You could not see the new intercooler design under the hood. As is typical of Porsche, everything is quite tight in the back. We will not get an idea of the intercooler design until somebody takes it apart.
The red light strips on the engine vent cover look awkward and seem unnecessary.
The interior is a step up but hardly a huge improvement. The shift knob being replaced with... whatever that is kills the enthusiast vibe of the PDK. It's a mistake and one big enough in relation to the driving experience that many will avoid the 992 for this reason alone.
The 992 will be a hit but thus far it is not bringing anything to the table that is making 991.2 owners jealous.
