    • RD Engineering/Cobb tuned Porsche 991.2 GT2 RS breaks into the 9's - 9.954@141.43 1/4 mile

Hats off to RD Engineering and Cobb for the first 9-second Porsche 991.2 GT2 RS. This is the fist of BoostAddict.com hearing of RD Engineering but they are a Cobb and ECUtek pro tuner. Clearly they know what they are doing.

This car has a custom exhaust and was tuned on 100 octane race fuel. It makes 715 wheel horsepower and 668 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on a Mustang dyno.

      A 9.9 @ 141.3 on a 1.588 60 foot is incredible for what amounts to bolt ons:

This is still short of a stock McLaren 720S though just to give some perspective on the run.

This was done with the rear wing in place and on the factory rubber. Imagine if they ditched the wing and put it on drag rubber. The GT2 RS is not a 1/4 mile car but damn are 9's with a tune and exhaust impressive.

Edit: The rear wing was in fact removed for this run.

Never could figure out why the drag strips never have the correct date on timeslip.

FWIW on 91 COBB the GT2RS was running 10.10 consistently on Drag Times.

RD Engineering plays around a lot with GTRs and I think some Evos/STIs

Run vid. Would someone develop a damn line lock for 991's already?

Does the gt2rs have the same turbos as the 991.2 turbo s?

        No it doesn't.

Next to the Turbo S, the GT2 uses larger turbochargers, unique pistons, a modified engine crankcase, and a reworked cooling system, among other details. The compressor side of the turbocharger alone goes up 9 millimeters in diameter, from 58 to 67. The ducts on the rear fenders feed 27 percent more air, in volume, to the intercoolers.
The output curves are absurd. Monstrous.
