    • BMS launches JB4 tuner for 2017-2019 Porsche 991.2 9A2B6 3.0 911 Carrera models - S, T, GTS

Good news here for those wary of flashing their ECU or messing with the factory software. Not to mention those who hate the Porsche tuning tax. BMS (Burger Tuning) finally has a JB4 tuning box available for the Porsche 991.2 9A2B6 3.0 platform although the offering is still in the early phases.

You may recall BMS has success to show with the 991.1 Turbo and S 3.8 platform so there is no reason to doubt the transition to the 3.0 turbo models.

We want to see dynos for the application on each 9A2B6 3.0 model.

For now, here is the feature list:

Power gains of up to 40hp and 60tq to the wheels on a stock vehicle
      Quick Plug & Play Installation
CANbus integration offering unrivaled tuning features and performance
Runs as smoothly as stock, this is how your Porsche should have come from the factory
      Compatible with all driving modes
Fuel economy unchanged during normal driving
Compatible with JB4 Mobile for smartphone logging, tuning changes, and adjustment
      Ethanol (E85) compatible tuning maps
      Able to read/delete fault codes
Not VIN locked, can be removed without a trace and resold down the road
      Made in the USA
      Free USA Shipping
      5 year warranty

Even if you are using a flash tune you can still benefit from the JB4 with map switching, boost per gear, reading/deleting codes, and methanol injection safeties.

      A great value at $799.99: https://burgertuning.com/collections...rrera-jb4-tune

Results from PorscheBoost member @Aatish who is getting the box installed should be available soon.

Question for Aatish: are you modifying exhaust system as well?

I have a Fabspeed X-pipe currently. Will probably do something with the cats when I go full send.

Still not on cuz life/work :/

That said, using time to get baseline dragy numbers.

Install seems straight forward; no need to remove bumper. I followed the guide outlining how to go in through the fan/vent area. Takes about 5 minutes to take apart. Y-Pipe sensor is cake to reach...manifold is tough. Figured out how to get my hand down there and can unplug the sensor...just didn't have time to finish.

I'm off this Friday, so that should be the day. Weather's dipping into the 50s around here as well, so hoping to take advantage of that.

Post will be provided as soon as the thing is on.
