    • 2020 Porsche 911 (992) gets no-cost 7-speed manual transmission option

Well, finally. The 992 generation launchd with an 8-speed PDK but no manual transmission option. It finally is available to order as a no-cost option. It is amusing the PDK and manual cost exactly the same from Porsche.

The PDK gearbox is obviously more expensive but this is due to economies of scale. The vast majority of 911's are PDK these days.

Still, it is good to see Porsche reinforce their cars are meant to be driven with a 7-speed manual available for the Carrera S and 4S models and the standard Carrera and Carrera 4 to follow.

Don't forget the manual saves 84 pounds on the PDK if you are into that sort of thing. It also comes with the Sport Chrono option as standard.

It also comes with mechanical LSD and PTV as standard, at least on manual S. Weight is about the same with 991.2.

        The mechanical LSD is interesting.

Wondering if we can get one for our cars...

Wow didn’t realize it was that big of a weight difference.

For now apparently. The manual is not ruled out for it.
