    • 2021 Porsche 992 Turbo S engine video - 8.7:1 compression, shorter stroke, based on 9A2B6

This is a very cool video showing the motor of the new Porsche 992 Turbo S but it does not tell us the details we really want to know. The video is more of a trailer/teaser but we really want to get into the specifications of the motor.

Not to mention, everyone wants to know how the 992 Turbo motor will differ from the 992 Turbo S. Will it just simply be detuned with software only?

Many sites are also reporting that this motor is based on the 991.2 3.8 Turbo engine. That is not true. The displacement is not the same either as the 992 Turbo S features a bore x stroke of 102mm by 76.4mm. The 991.2 Turbo S is 102mm x 77.5mm. The compression ratio also drops to 8.7:1 from 9.8:1.

Certainly a cool video to watch and listen to which shows off the new air intake design as well as the cooling system:

They're really stepping the game up. I don't ever recall these promotional videos for the 991.1/2 TTS.

What I'm impressed by is they are essentially saying you can take any 991.2 or 993 3.0 and make it this or more.
