    • Dimsport 991.2 Carrera piggyback tuning box results - +35 wheel horsepower

As the Porsche 991.2 Siemens SDI21 ECU posed problems for tuners until recently being cracked several piggyback tuning options for the 9A2B6 3.0 motor found their way to the market. PorscheBoost member @quattr0 decided to try out the Dimsport unit.

Dimsport claims a 15% power increase. According to @quattr0 's Dynojet results, he got about a 10% boost at the wheels. The Dimsport piggyback is pretty mild:

There does not appear to be a huge chunk gained down low unlike the ECU tunes out there.

      Unfortunately, no torque reading:

Well, it's been 5 months since I left the car untouched ;-) Got the DimSport piggyback installed. To be honest, I was hoping more gain down low but I guess that won't be the case. Please see the dyno below for yourself. The shop said it appears that more runs needed so the graph doesn't look up/down (the line looked better run after run) a lot but it was time to close up the shop so I told them not to worry about it. They have the older Dynojet and needed a $5-$6k adapter to read torque so there is no torque reading. They told me they could get to the ignition coil wire to read torque but have to cut apart the wiring loom cover and tape it back so I didn't want to do that.
He does not want to deal with removing the ECU or sending it to someone and that is understandable. The piggyback basically gives him 991.2 Carrera S level performance.

The PorscheBoost Project 991.2 will be a getting an ECU tune shortly and we will have a better idea as to the gains by tuning through the ECU versus using a piggyback.

        Thanks for the post Sticky!

On the side note, shop emailed me yesterday. Apparently the instructions were poorly provided and my car is the first 991.2 piggy they've done...there should be more power down low. Will update once the car will return!

Interesting. I wonder what they did wrong?

I hope they re-dyno you for free if that is the case.

Soon my friend. Apparently there's some tuning (on the software side) could be done with it lol I don't want to jump the gun this time...Will post once everything will be settled.

Some minor update....beautiful weather in Texas country today so I took her out. I'm surprised how nice it pulls after 6k rpm...I know that doesn't help much but good to know it's there.

Trying to bring the car back next week as the shop said they could look into tweaking it further...definitely don't want to keep passing 6k rpm all the time lol

If they could bump up down low a bit, I think I will be set for awhile. Next is to put her on real diet and control arms.

When you see my numbers you're going to want a proper tune...

Hey, @quattr0 how did you dyno in RWD mode on a Dynojet?

The manuals let you do that?

Yup, only manuals work on RWD dyno. Otherwise you would need AWD.

Probably not for only 15 pounds.
