    • Converting a Porsche 991.2 Targa GTS to 991.1 GT3 RS bodywork

Why do this? Probably because you can. It definitely sets this Targa apart from other 991.2 models but the GT3 RS bodywork is designed for the GT3 RS motor. One has to wonder if the intercoolers and turbos are getting the same airflow they were designed for with the air intakes moved about.

McChip-DKR decided to do something different and different it certainly is. Confusing as well.

It is interesting to see that the 991.1 GT3 RS body pieces seem to fit without issue. It helps the Targa 4 GTS has wide hips to begin with.

      Yay or nay?

I like it...Targa begs to be seen in Dark Metallic Blue though.

I like it, reminds me of a Speedster. Now just needs upgraded performance to match the new style.

Due to taxes, panalties, fines and just a lot of extra government crap, a lot of people around the world have to pay WAY more for top of the line cars like a gt3rs.

So many of them get a great car like a gts and tune it up both engine and body work.

Some even debadge the top of the line cars and try to pass them off as lesser models, again to avoid penalties and additional fines.

OK, that explains it...I wish it was in different color. For some reason, I'm not digging this color. You have a combo of dark grey or whatever that color is then white/metal then black and yellow. A bit too much. To each of his own.

They don't make a Targa GT3 so it's different but they don't make it because it weighs almost 500 pounds more.

I think it’s a pretty cool looking, but I’ve never been a fan of putting different model body parts on any car.

Wish they had the option of the targa system being a manual release setup instead of a 500lb automated transformer thing. Oh well.

It's not only that they force all wheel drive on you with it too.

I was wondering when I was going to see this! I don't think it looks bad, but nor do I think it looks good. Its just strange on a targa.

I cant imagine how expensive this was to do. Do you know if they made modifications to the IC's? Like you mentioned, the OEM IC's aren't meant for the side inlets.

It doesn't seem as if all the body panels share the identical anthracite color... or is it just my eyes?

I love how the rear fender hack job is conveniently covered up in every pic by the door being open.

I agree, it doesn't look bad but it doesn't really do anything for me.
I actually like how the normal Targa looks but I would never buy it because of the extra weight.

It should just have a manual removable T top like a vette and be the lightweight "convertible" option instead of being heavier than the 911 cab.

On the color comment, I think the paint color matches but the angles on the added body panels don't quite line up so they end up looking different shade.
