    • GIAC releases 2017 on Porsche 981.2 718 Boxster S & Cayman S 9A2B4 2.5 ECU tuning software - 415 horsepower

Yet again a release from GIAC and yet again no dyno graph. They mention this software was developed on the Champion Motorsport Dynojet so why not post the Dynojet graph like any serious tuner? Why is this continually an issue with GIAC?

      SHOW. THE. DAMN. DYNO. CHART.

Nobody is interested in estimated power curves.

GIAC claims gains of 45 horsepower and 44 lb-ft of torque increasing output to roughly 405-415 horsepower and 415-425 lb-ft of torque at the crank.

Peak to peak gains were 45 HP and 44 Ft-Lbs, however average gains were 60 Ft-Lbs between 3600 to 5100 RPM and 50 HP between 4000 to 6300 RPM. In addition to the added power, the program also offers smooth part throttle driving and gear transitions.Software features included:
      - Increased boost
      - Changes to fuel and timing
      - Higher torque limits

Special thanks to Champion Motorsport for their help in the development process. Performance gains displayed in the plots shown were calculated from raw wheel power data of OEM and GIAC programming tests on Champion Motorsports Dynojet Dyno. A factor of 1.1 to account for parasitic losses was used to create the Engine estimated curves. No additional upgrades were used during testing, although larger power increases may be observed with additional performance hardware and/or higher octane fuel.

      Here are their 'estimated' graphs:

At a price point of $1800 requiring the ECU to be sent in this is hard to recommend for the gains per dollar and also without anything actually proving how they came up with the numbers.

Much like with GIAC's 991.2 tuning software, there are better options out there for greater gains at less money especially when factoring in multiple fuels and custom dyno tuning.

No reason they can't tune it as they have access.

If you need a tune I can help. Where are you located?

I’m in Connecticut. It’s not that I need a tune, I want one. Haha.

Well, it's not that I necessarily needed a turbo upgrade on the 911 but... definitely wanted one Click here to enlarge

You'll be stoked with a tune. The 2.0 responds well from those who have them tuned I've talked to.

I just don't know who to point you to in Connecticut. If you're willing to ship your ECU, you have a plethora of choices.

That’s my issue right now. Don’t have another car at the moment to use. I know that there are issues with flashing over obd2 right now, so there is that.

Yep, you need to physically unlock it.

Borrow a car or uber for a day. I mean, I would have done it already Click here to enlarge

Yeah. My issue at the moment is that I’m deploying soon, so my car will sit for a while. When I get home, I will be doing something. I’ll have some vacation time.
