    • ByDesign Stage 3 Porsche 991.2 Turbo S vs. unnamed tuned 991.2 Turbo S at the dragstrip

      911 Turbo on 911 Turbo action here. Definitely good to see more 991.2 Turbo S results showing the improvement the 991.2 generation brings with it. Both of these vehicles are Turbo S models but with different tuning.

      The car on the left has the ByDesign Stage III package which means a tune, exhaust, plenum, and intercoolers.

      The one of the right has an unnamed tune.

      The result?

      A 10.1 is fantastic and keep in mind it was achieved on 93 octane pump fuel and in humid Florida weather at PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway). It should be able to do 9's on race gas relatively easily.

      A difference of 6/10's between the two cars is pretty large. The tuner for the car on the right was kept anonymous.

        I don't know the compressor sizes but the 991.2 Turbo S is bigger than the 991.2 Turbo and 991.1 Turbo and Turbo S which have the same size VTG's.

        The 997.2 could break into the 9's with bolt ons so it was kind of said the 991.1 couldn't. The 991.2 fixes that.

        Exhaust only is already 5k so I would say low-mid 10k's

        True Truw, but you don't really NEED exhaust, more just the bypass pipes...

        my math was...

        Tune = $2K
        Bypass = $1K
        Plenum = $1K
        Intercoolers = $3K

        Total $7K

        I don't know if the 3.0 spark plug design applies to the Turbo.
