    • PorscheBoost member takes his 991.2 GTS with Fabspeed bypass pipes and headers to the strip, runs 11.2

PorscheBoost member @LavaGTS hit the strip in his 991.2 GTS. That is the rear wheel drive model for those unsure. His car is stock other than the Fabspeed 991.2 9A2 3.0 headers and cat bypass pipes you see pictured below.

How did he do? Very well.

This is his first run again a 997.2 Turbo PDK the owner claimed was stock but it is not stock. Either way, the GTS wins despite having the slower trap speed. Yes, the rear wheel drive GTS out-launched the AWD 997.2 Turbo in this instance:

He ran his brother in a 991.1 3.8 C4S next. That poor C4S needs some boost:

And the final run topping 123 miles per hour of trap speed:

What do we learn? The GTS picked up a couple tenths and a couple miles per hour with the bypass pipes and headers without any ECU tuning.

With a tune? This is an easy 10-second car and right there with if not topping a 991.1 Turbo.

The 3.0 turbo Carrera models are the best bang for your buck platform in the Porsche lineup. Period.

Did I miss the stock/baseline runs?

        DCT or manual?

PDK and he said he did 11.5 @ 121 stock although I didn't see the slip.

        Theres your baseline.

Also did 196mph on a long straight. It hit a wall at 196, could have scraped 200. I know it can do 200+ for sure now.

2 mph and 3/10's from exhaust changes alone without tuning is nice.

        Now I want headers...

I meant all 3.0 models including the 4 but... The 991.2 Carrera is where it's at for value,

Agreed but as I pointed out in the other thread, the AWD in C4+PB turbos+FBO+e85 would be amazing for time slip!!!

        P.S. you're up early today.....

Agreed with the Carrera 4 for full blown tuning/modding.

What does a C4S have over the C4 that's beneficial? Brakes... and?

The pump in power that would easily be voided by tune or turbos upgrade Click here to enlarge

I think they put the content on their site first.. Those ad's were enraging lol.

FYI I ran a rental 991.2 Base down the same track in 94 degree weather and it consistently ran 12.2 no matter what mode.. Manual or Auto. No PSE no Chrono either.

Trap speed either 112 or 114, can't remember.

Are those a Fabspeed headers a revised design? They look much cleaner than the headers Ive seen that Fabspeed makes. I just sold a set that had multiple pieces in each runner before the collector.

I found an image of the old headers.

        https://www.ebay.com/i/332635567877?chn=ps

The new set looks to have a thinner flange and cast oval to round transition which is incorporated into the flange. It also has longer and smother collector.

Interesting observation. Looks as if the ones on my car have different "FABSPEED" stampings than the photos you guys are showing. Are they possibly generic, unfinished photos?

Mine look different because they are ceramic coated.
