    • Bren Tuning 991.2 Carrera custom dyno tune results with AMS air filter - +87 whp

Nice gains here from Bren Tuning on a 991.2 Porsche Carrera 3.0. As you can see more and more tuners are now able to tackle the notoriously difficult ECU which is good for enthusiasts as software evolution should speed up with more competition.

As Bren Tuning highlights the mid-range torque gains are enormous:

991.2 Carrera calibrated! These models use a newer turbo motor with tons of untapped potential when they came out. But New SD21x management held a lot of tuners back. A factory stock car picking up 130tq midrange and 90hp with no parts is nothing short of amazing. Careful changes were made to launch control, throttle response, mixtures, and torque models to transform this into two different vehicles. Swipe for same strap dyno tests and an @amsperformance air filter test as well (+9hp)
What is interesting to note is the AMS air filter actually picks up 10 whp:

      That should definitely help sales.

Overall, a night and day difference between stock and tuned.

For context, the PorscheBoost 991.2 with the BoostAddict Stage I turbo upgrade is making over 110 whp more than this car.

I'd assume pump but I don't know what octane.

You sure those huge fans blowing directly into the intakes had nothing to do with those gains?

        A very astute point.

Absolutely they did and let's be honest he chose the run showing the highest gains not average gains.

        That's the dyno game.

Still much less air than will flow across the intercoolers when the car is moving down the road a 50MPH

Aren't all shops have fans blowing that way?

Some closer, some further away, some bigger, some smaller...

        Some have dedicated wind tunnels.

That is what it's portrayed as.

If you look at the stock filter this is a big improvement. I have a similar filter and can't say it's worth 10 whp but it certainly flows better.
