    • Auto Bionics UK is mating GM LT and LS V8's to Dodson upgraded Porsche PDK RWD transmissions

How cool is this? It looks like those Dodson PDK upgrades for RWD variants are going to be getting a hell of a workout and it is not even from the Porsche guys. Auto Bionics in the UK is mating upgraded PDK units with GM LT and LS V8 engines.

Now, due to the layout here you can imagine what kind of cars will benefit from this. Kit cars and specifically the Ultima GTR thus far.

It would be interesting to see this GM + PDK combo in some other vehicles. Maybe a Superlite SLC is a good candidate?

They use the Porsche TCU and you get launch control as well as traction control:

You have to love this as an auto enthusiast.

I'm not an american car guy, or an LS guy, or a GM guy...but a built up LS7 with a PDK sounds like a great time. Maybe with one of those Lingenfelter flat-plane cranks....

I wonder if they also make the reverse setup where the engine is behind the pdk like in 911's?

The pdk transmission you show in the article is a mid-end variant from the boxster/cayman.

Typically 996s with LS1's lose weight...1000hp is very easy to reach with that much displacement and a little boost or nitrous on top.

        imagine this for a sec....

        2800lbs 911
        1000hp LSX
        PDK
325 wide drag radials (will need wide body 3/4 panels)

That has 8 second 1/4 mile written all over it....

Yep but the internals can be upgraded just the same.
