    • MotorWeek 2018 Porsche 991.2 Turbo S Cabriolet test figures - 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 10.8@129

The Porsche 911 Turbo S is the heaviest 911 in the lineup at just over 3600 pounds. That is fine. It's not trying to be a 911 GT3. The Turbo S is quite simply one of the most comfortable and fastest ways to drive around in a drop top 911.

It's gorgeous. That much is obvious. What changes does the 991.2 bring with it though?

A bit more power from larger VTG turbochargers boosting the motor to 580 horsepower. It shows. 0-60 comes in 2.9 seconds. The 1/4 mile? 10.8 @ 129.

The 992 generation will of course improve on the performance but it will be interesting to see how big of a leap the Turbo S takes. The 991.2 is virtually perfect.

This is simply one of the best convertible performance cars on the planet.

Porsche hides it well. Even on the Macan and Panamera.

The M5 time is from one magazine source. I highly doubt we see an independent slip anywhere near that trap.

I haven't seen any slips yet actually.

        Hmmm that's much faster than W213 E63 S times.

        127 is solid!

Now how the hell is the M5 trapping 127 with 60-130's of 8.3 when I'm running quicker times and trapping less?

Forgot to mention, if the f90 m5 is anything like the f10m5, you will see as much as 5mph difference in traps going from 91 to 93/94 octane. I know that the f90 requires 93 for full performance ....

If you compare to 991.2 Turbo S slips, the Porsche is running low 10's at over 130.

If that’s the case that gives a lot more validity to the inflated stock m5 times....
