    • PorscheBoost member breaks into the 8's with his AIM1000 daily driven 991.1 Turbo S - 8.8@158

Congratulations to PorscheBoost Porsche Performance Forums member @9SECDD for breaking into the 8's in the 1/4 mile and being the first to do so in the USA with the 991.1 Turbo platform. His car features an AIM1000/ESMotor upgrade from AIM Performance in New Jersey.

The car is tuned on a Syvecs standalone which is the key here. It allows control of six additional port fuel injectors which are fueling this beast.

The VTG turbochargers are ditched for a pair of Garrett GT30's. The motor is obviously built and the transmission is upgraded by Dodson.

This is the quickest overall 991.1 or 991.2 Turbo in the world but the fastest trap speed belongs to Ekanoo racing at 160.7 if you trust Middle Eastern drag strips.

Regardless, the quickest and fastest 991.1 Turbo in the USA belongs to @9SECDD who will need to update his name to 8secdd now.

Launches like it is no issue at all. Smooth, easy.

How is the lag? How do you like the package overall?

Do the internals include a new crankshaft? Is the block reinforced?

It launches better now than it did before the motor build. It's the magical Emre tuning combined with the testing from Ryan and Joe. They didn't just install everything, hand me the car and say "good luck". They tuned, tested, retuned, re-tested. Kept at it until it was right.

There is only a little lag early on, but it turned out to be a good thing. Safer on drive train during launch, smoother/easier launch (but still produced my best 60 ft ever at 1.42), and once the turbos are spooled, the instant PDK shifts keep them that way.

        Love the package overall.

Stock crankshaft. Block is not reinforced. Just upgraded head studs.

Only new head studs? Or also rods and pistons too?

Engine build with rods and pistons. Stock crank and stock block.

Impressive the block holds this amount.

I'll probably end up sleeving mine.

Coming from a fellow 8-second daily (at least I could) driver GTR owner, that was super impressive. That launch was so smooth. Congrats!
