Doesn't make sense considering the M4 is faster and won around the track.

Maybe not the 80k version but the base price version. Regardless, that is not the point. The point is, I am sure that there are a lot of people on your board that can afford the M4 and choose a Camaro, Mustang or others instead. IMO the M4 or other M's are not worth the price anymore. The E46M3 was the last great M. I never buy new cars anyways, so I always let someone else take the hit and buy cars that are 2 to 3 years old. I really could car less as to whether the cars I buy are still under warranty. I would much rather retire in my 40s vs owning a 100k car.Click here to enlarge

I really don't think there are. That's not to say people who buy a Camaro can't afford an M4 but people shopping for an M4 don't go buy the Camaro. That's the difference.

Having owned one and an E92 M3 I agree. But the last time M was great was before the F80 generation.

I'm starting to come around to this line of thinking but if you have the money it really doesn't matter. Like the people buying S65 AMG's brand new only to take a $100k bath a year later. It means nothing to them.

I'd like both. And in my 30's.

What do you do to make $800k per year? (Or 1.5M ish you are talking before taxes)
If true I want to know what field I need to go into lol.
I totally agree with the only buying 2-3 year old cars even if I had that much money. Unless it was a limited edition or something really special and I wanted to be first driving it around like the 2015 GT350R.

this appears to be the real problem. the e46 had a particular focus, it excelled in something. since then the M has become more a mix of objectives to please the masses, it seems to do a lot things well but fails to excel in anything (enough to differentiate itself anyway). imo the e46 was a car that someone who likes to tinker and modify could be almost happy just leaving it alone, they got the package right out of the box. no mods necessary. the next gen could have been perfect if it stayed the same weight, but it got fat. anyway, the past is the past. my personal solution was to buy a non-M car and throw money it until it fits my own goals.

The funniest part about the whole @TT C6 discussion is his negative rep doesn't allow him to respond, but I bet he still gets emails every time the thread is bumped Click here to enlarge His head might explode soon.

It seems like you have a personal vendetta,

    I disagree with this.
I could buy multiple M4s in cash right now, but was cross shopping a Commodore (closest thing we have to the Camaro) with BMWs. Ended up with a E90 M3 instead for various reasons.

Lol. It'll take the M4 a decade to hit that..

Actually who am I kidding it's been a decade with the S65 and they aren't there. Why would the M4 get there any faster?
